This year, we’ve put together a program full of opportunities for kids to explore UU values, build friendships, and connect with our community in meaningful ways.

We’ll kick things off with an informal meet and greet after service this Sunday, September 7. Come join us outside (weather permitting) to say hello, meet the RE staff, and reconnect with one another.

Our Religious Exploration program will begin next Sunday, September 14, with a 6-week Nature Play session. Through games, stories, and outdoor exploration, we’ll celebrate the beauty of the natural world while practicing UU values together.

After this first session, we will transition into our Spirit(ed) Play curriculum for Chalice Kids in grades K–2, Soul Matters curriculum for our Explorers in grades 3–5, and Neighboring Faiths/Crossing Paths curriculum for our middle school youth group.

Jody, Nate, Meagan, and the RE Action Team have been hard at work preparing for the new church year, and we are seeking additional RE volunteers to support programming throughout the year. We have a range of volunteer opportunities, and most roles are on teams to help share the work and help build new connections and relationships. As a volunteer, you would be asked to serve 1–2 Sundays a month.

Here are the areas where we still really need support:

  • Nature Play: If you want to be outside with the kids exploring nature, we could use 1–2 more adult or youth volunteers on Sunday mornings from Sept. 14 to Oct. 12 (you do not have to commit to every week).
  • Middle School Youth Group: 1 additional MSYG advisor
  • FUUY (High School Youth Group): 1 additional FUUY advisor
  • Floating Support: 5–6 additional volunteers needed
  • Nursery Nurturers (infant–PreK): 4 additional volunteers needed to support the Nursery Lead
  • Chalice Kids Classroom Support (K–2nd grade): 3 additional volunteers needed to support the Lead Teacher
  • Explorers (3rd–5th grade): 2–3 additional volunteers needed
  • Floating Support: 5–6 additional volunteers needed
