It’s Time for the Giving Tree

Send a Gift to a Child in Need

Each year, members and friends of Follen generously commit to giving gifts to young people in need during the holiday season. This year we will again be supporting four organizations:

  • Department of Children and Families in Arlington, which supports and protects children from neglect and abuse
  • Department of Youth Services’ juvenile correctional institution in Worcester
  • Hildebrand Family Self-Help Center, which provides shelter and services in Cambridge for families who are homeless
  • Renewal House in Boston, a program of the UU Urban Ministry, a domestic violence shelter for individuals in crisis and their children

Join in! There will be an opportunity to select tags and gifts from the Giving Tree in the Community Center after church on December 4 and 11.

If you are not able to attend the church services on those dates to pick out a tag, but would like to participate, please email givingtree@follen.org and I will pick one for you!

Gifts can be brought to Follen’s Sunday service on December 18. If you are unable to attend that service, they can be dropped off in a designated box in either the vestibule or the entrance to the Community Center any time before December 18.

If you are interested in helping to organize this event (involves helping to sort and write out tags, staff the tables in the Community Center for two Sundays, and help with gift delivery) please feel free to contact me at givingtree@follen.org. We could use more help!

Best,

Cindy Carver
