As the nights grow long and the winter deepens, we gather this Sunday for a joyful, music-filled multigenerational celebration of Hanukkah. Our service will center around a lively adaptation of “The Latke Who Couldn’t Stop Screaming” by Lemony Snicket—a hilarious and surprisingly tender tale about identity, belonging, and the power of being truly understood.

With members of the congregation stepping into the roles of Christmas lights, candy canes, woodland creatures, and more, the Sanctuary will come alive in playful holiday color. Beautiful musical interludes—from klezmer favorites to traditional Hanukkah melodies—will weave the story together, featuring guest musicians on clarinet, strings, guitar, and piano.
