Seeking Nominees for the DRE Search Committee

Program Council is seeking nominees to serve on the Director of Religious Education Search Committee.
The Committee will be tasked with the following:
a) Gather input from across the Follen Congregation regarding the Religious Education Programs at Follen;
b) Develop and finalize a job description to identify the roles and needs of the Director of Religious Education; and
c) Conduct the search and develop an interview process for the new Director of Religious Education with the goal of hiring a new director before Annual Meeting in May of 2018.
The committee will be comprised of 5 Follenites plus an HR representative and Rev. Claire. We hope to assemble a broad cross-section of the community; with Religious Education connections and specific skills. This may include current and former members from the Religious Education Action Team, parents of younger and teenage children, youth and youth advisors, individuals with education backgrounds, backgrounds specific to the needs of the Religious Education program, and members at large.
This is a meaningful amount of work in an area of vital importance to Follen. Nominees should be aware of the significant time commitment required, and expect weekly meetings and other work to occur from October through May.
Nominations and questions should be submitted to Simon Horsburgh. These can be self-nominated. Please include answers to the following questions:
• Is the nominee willing to commit the time required to the Committee?
• What is the nominee’s connection to Religious Education?
• What specific skills does the nominee bring to the Committee?
• In what capacities is the nominee active at Follen? (e.g., action team, program council, etc.)
The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, September 27.
Thank you for your interest and your service to Follen.
-Simon Horsburgh
