Presentation on Housing Adults with Special Needs

Special Presentation: Residential Housing for Adults with Special Needs
November 4, 7:30pm, on Zoom

The Caring Congregation Committee is bringing you Barbara Jackins and Karen Marsical, both special needs attorneys and moms of adult sons with special needs. Topics include:

  • What types of housing are available both public and private
  • How to apply and costs of different housing options
  • Difficulty of mixed diagnoses that don’t fit the models.
  • Dealing with adult children who don’t feel they are disabled or those that feel they can’t live outside the home

Both Barbara and Karen have written on this topic and Barbara has published a book Moving Out: A Family Guide to Residential Planning for Adults with Disabilities which is an excellent resource. Following a power-point presentation there will be a question and answer session. If you interested in attending, please register by emailing Dottie Vacca at with your name, email, and if you like, a question for the presenters to address. You will then be emailed a Zoom link prior to the event.
