Patriots Day Parade

Monday, April 20, 2015

Show your Follen pride and march in Lexington’s Patriots Day Parade! The Lexington Parade starts at Tower Park (near the the intersection of Marrett Road and Mass Ave) at 2 pm, and ends on Worthen Road near the town swimming pool/Hayden ice rink around 3:30 pm. Please plan to find the Follen float by 1:30 pm.

GETTING TO THE PARADE START:

Mass Ave will be blocked off roughly from Pleasant Street to Worthen Road—including Follen’s parking lots. You can park at Lexington High School (corner of Waltham Street and Worthen Road) and take a shuttle. Shuttles run from the High School to Pleasant Street/MassAve intersection from 11:45 am to 1:30 pm.

Follen will be assigned a starting spot on parade day somewhere between Follen and Tower Park.  Look for our Follen float!

We’ll be there ca. 12:30. The Parade starts *promptly* at 2

BATHROOMS:
There are port-a-potties at the parade start and along the route.

LEAVING THE PARADE:

You can leave a car at the high school lot before the parade. I will help arrange car-pools for interested parties.

WHAT TO WEAR:

Blue! If you have a Follen t-shirt and you can wear it so it shows—say, on top of a turtleneck or thermal underwear if it’s cold—that would be great. Otherwise, just try to wear blue on top, and either blue jeans or blue and black pants on the bottom.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

If it looks like there will be any rain, the Follen float will stay in the barn for another year. Look for the Follen banner instead.
