A New Teaching Schedule for Religious Education in 2017-2018

Starting in September, Follen will be moving to a new religious education teaching schedule that is designed to provide more flexibility for parent volunteers, more support for teachers, and more stability and continuity for the children and youth being taught!

The teaching schedule will be divided into two terms, each with thirteen or fourteen slots.  Volunteers will be asked to sign up for a term as part of a teaching team, sharing the work with four other team members and a team lead to help coordinate classes and trouble-shoot any concerns that might arise.

The new system helps teachers within each team and session support one another in terms of teaching continuity and scheduling.  Teacher orientation and training will be offered in the late summer/early fall as well – to get things started with organizational support and collegiality.

Watch for teacher sign-up forms after the Memorial Day weekend, and remember that we welcome teachers of all ages, whether you have children currently in your home or not!
