“The Blessing” is a Grammy-nominated song, written by Kari Jobe and collaborators. It is a contemporary setting of the same words from scripture that Rev. Claire uses as her benediction. The song was also chosen for today’s service as an opportunity for our Follen choirs and instrumentalists to accompany Rev. Hickman-Maynard in song!

“Ubi Caritas” is a text is attributed to Paulinus of Aquileia in 796. The traditional melody probably also stems from the late 8th century. Maurice Duruflé created this beautiful choral setting around 1960 as No. 1 of his Quatre Motets sur des thèmes grégoriens in which he combines the chant lines in a polyphonic setting.
