With the September worship theme of  hospitality, the youth choir is singing May Erlewine’s song of welcome, “Come On In.” Written in 2016, the lyrics can speak directly and aspirationally to today whether that welcome be to the table of a living room or extended to a refugee entering a country.

“There is room at the table, we’ve got love enough to go around…”

“Come on in whatever you need, there’s no hungry heart that love can’t feed. Leave your worries on the welcome mat, a welcome to you wherever you’re at.”

Award-winning songwriter Oen Kennedy‘s song “Freedom Freedom” commemorates the civil rights movement and similarly speaks to today, as well including the refrain “Don’t shy ’way from freedom calling, stand up for love, when the world is falling.”
