The song “True Colors,” written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, is about unconditional love, acceptance, and emotional honesty, encouraging someone to reveal their authentic self without fear of judgment. It was notably covered by Cyndi Lauper, Phil Collins, and many others. It became an anthem for the LGBTQ community because of its message of empathy, humanity, and embracing individuality.
