Mother’s Day Walk for Peace

Mark your calendars for Sunday May 8–Support Louis D Brown Institute for Peace

Once again the Louis D Brown Mother’s Day Walk for Peace (WFP) will be take place, rain or shine!  The walk begins with a rally in Fields Corner at 7:30am and ends with another rally at City Hall Plaza. Hancock Congregational and First Parish Lexington are working with us as part of the Lexington Interfaith team.

The WFP is the key annual fundraising activity for the Louis D Brown Peace Institute.  Our financial support, made primarily through donations on our team page, supports the work  the Louis D Brown Institute does to support survivors of violence.  By providing tools, resources and opportunities they enable survivors to become architects of their own healing and advocates for change in society. The walk can be a powerful way to honor loved ones who have been murdered, to honor your mother by showing up for peace and to embrace the shared responsibility in creating more peaceful communities.

If you plan to walk, use this link to join our team.  We will be offering bus transportation to the walk starting point in Dorchester and back to the Follen from City Hall Plaza. This link will let you can select transportation options for Mother’s Day, Sunday May 8.

Whether or not you plan to walk please donate using our team page ?https://www.mothersdaywalk4peace.org/Team/View/157680/Lexington-Interfaith.  Click the purple Donate button.
