Sunday December 22, 10:30am
We need all sorts of instrumentalists (guitar, accordion, mandolin, bass, violin, drums, flute, clarinet, sax, trumpet, whatever!) to join with Vivian’s band Shir Chutzpa, and renowned clarinetist Glenn Dickson, for the third annual Klezmer (no latke play this year, just music) service on Sunday, December 22. Rehearsal is on Wednesday, 12/18, 8-9:30pm and 9am on 12/22 before the 10:30 service. Parts and playlist will be available in a Dropbox folder or can be printed and left for you to pick up. Please contact Director of Music Vivian Montgomery (firstname.lastname@example.org) with inquiries and to say you’ll be part of the band. All ages are welcome!
Join the Music on Christmas Eve!
7:30pm Service Music is Off the Beaten Path!
Following up on the splendor of the “guitar band” numbers in last year’s service, our 7:30pm service music will be entirely that kind of stuff rather than choir, and we want you to be part of it! We have a fabulous guitar/mandolin/banjo/dobro duo (from Cambridge band Best Ever Chicken) to support us, one of the songs will be Josh Ritter’s “Joy To You Baby” but let’s include folk/jazz/indie/pop/rock and a cappella songs that you’d like to do, with guitars, ukes, drums, keys, bass, strings, winds, and plenty o’ voices. Rehearsal on Sunday Dec 22 or Monday Dec 23, depending on everyone’s availability. Be in touch with Vivian soon to say you’re in and to suggest songs. Really looking forward to this!
