Sunday’s Share the Plate: Women’s Lunch Place

Affirmation of worth and dignity, physical nurturance, and support services for self-identified women experiencing homelessness or poverty is what theWomen’s Lunch Place in Boston, the recipients of this Sunday’s Share the Plate, is all about. Follen has been involved with WLP for more than 25 years and has cooked one lunch a month, and donated knitted garments, toiletries, and everyday supplies for the guests as well as continuing financial support.

In 2015, examples of WLP’s service to 1,300 women include:
       * 85,575 meals
       * 3,118 warm showers
       * 2,789 medical visits
WLP also found jobs for 34 guests and permanent homes for 31 homeless women.
If you will not be at Sunday’s service, you can still contribute by sending a check (payable to Follen Church with WLP on the memo line) to Church Administrator Sarah Garner.
