Men’s Group
Every Wednesday morning, Follen meet either via zoom or at Follen to get to know one another better, sharing stories of our lives, our aspirations, or just discussing what’s on our minds. We are welcoming, inclusive and — I must say — a truly interesting group of men!
We are a group of men who meet and speak personally, respectfully and in confidence. We currently have 25 members and meet once a week on Wednesdays at 10 AM for 90 minutes. We meet primarily on Zoom, but one week a month we meet in person.
Our meetings are structured and moderated. Members choose topics to speak about, sometimes in a presentation format where a member shares something important to him (perhaps a story from his life or really anything that is meaningful to him), which tends often to stimulate a wide-ranging discussion. Our other format begins with a topic that members are invited, if they wish, to comment about, based on their personal life experiences and values.
Our conversations are not:
- intellectual, abstract or theoretical — they’re real
Our conversations are:
- open-hearted
- honest
- funny
- confidential
These conversations provide a comfortable way for Follen men to get to know one another and become known.
We are structured so that those who wish to speak and those who wish to listen can both do so. We are not a support group, and there are no attendance requirements. It’s a come as you are whenever you wish kind of group. We heartily welcome and invite new members at any time of the church year.
