Follen Welcomes a New Interim Director of Religious Education

Rev. Claire and the Human Resources Committee are delighted to announce that they have hired a new Interim Director of Religious Education, Deborah Weiner. She starts August 8.

Deb is a certified interim religious educator and lifelong Unitarian Universalist focused on helping congregations in transition infuse health and vitality into their religious education programs and their congregational systems.  Deb is a candidate for the UUA’s Religious Education Credentialing Program and is co-teaching the UUA’s Interim Religious Leader training (fall, 2016).

Deb is also a consultant specializing in communications, management, event management, and marketing.  She has worked with non-profit organizations in the areas of religion, education and the arts.  Deb is a writer and editor (Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition). She is also an inspirational leader, public speaker and team organizer who is the Moderator of the Unitarian Universalist Musicians Network.

Deb is a longtime Lexington resident along with her husband, Ben Soule, a licensed contractor and woodworker.  They have two young adult children and, when not in UU congregations, can be found singing or performing on stage somewhere in the greater Boston area.
