Follen has hired Linda Hein as its new Business Manager, succeeding Church Administrator Sarah Garner, who is retiring after 17 years. Linda is very experienced at keeping the books for and administering non-profit organizations.
She comes to Follen from the Comprehensive Family Evaluation Center at Tufts Medical School. Before that she worked for 12 years at the Alexander Technique International, an organization that retrains patterns of movement and posture to improve execution for singers and other performers.
Linda will take up her new duties March 16, allowing her to work alongside Sarah for two weeks to learn the ropes at Follen.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with the selection of Linda to take over the business operations,” said the Rev. Claire Feingold Thoryn. “She will be a great addition to the staff and her experience means that it will be a very smooth transition.”
The search committee received 30 applications for the position. The new title was chosen to better reflect the responsibilities of the job.
Linda lives in Cambridge with two rescue cats and spends as much time as possible with her three-year-old goddaughter. She spent ten years as a pastry chef making wedding cakes. In her free time she likes to travel, with Wales, London, France, and Israel her favorite destinations.
