Covenant Groups, also known as small group ministry at Follen, provide opportunities to to engage in thoughtful listening and explore and engage with others in sharing spiritual beliefs and practices. They are a wonderful way to deepen your connections with others at Follen, to find inspiration and to inspire. What is required of you? A desire to listen deeply using the practice of sacred listening and a willingness to contemplate different perspectives and suspend judgment.

Each Covenant Group has 8-10 members who represent the diverse fabric of the Follen community. The groups meet monthly to nurture their members within the church. There are currently 9 Covenant Groups at Follen; about one-third of the adults in the congregation participate.

Monthly session readings are based on monthly themes prepared by Rev. Claire. The Covenant Writers’ Group selects reading passages and prepares questions related to the monthly themes.

Please visit Worship Themes page for information about each month’s congregational theme.

Information and Registration

Are you interested in joining a Follen Covenant Group? Most groups meet monthly, face-to-face at Follen or in members’ homes. During the pandemic most groups met via Zoom. We have groups that meet every day of the week except Saturday. Most meet once a month in the evening, but several meet during the day. New members are placed in groups based upon when (day/time) they are available and as space allows.

Joining a Covenant Group is a wonderful way to explore your spirituality and human connections in a small group setting at Follen. If you are interested in becoming part of one of these groups of 8-10 people, whether you are new to Follen or been a member for years, please fill out this form: Covenant Group Registration Form.
