Vance Gilbert in Concert
Saturday March 16 8pm, Winchester Unitarian Society
Singer/Songwriter Vance Gilbert in Concert in Winchester, March 16
Unitarian Society presents celebrated singer, songwriter, and performer Vance Gilbert in concert, March 16, 8:00 p.m., in the Winchester Unitarian Society sanctuary, 478 Main St., Winchester. Described as having “the voice of an angel, the wit of a devil, and the guitar playing of a god,” Gilbert weaves his magic with a combination of humor, virtuosity, and the unexpected. Whether with classic, original songwriting or ageless interpretations of covers, Gilbert’s performance is steeped in deep humanism and bravery, stunning artistry and soul, and contagious, unbridled joy. “He is that rare performer for whom people lean forward in their seats as eagerly between songs as they do during them” (The Boston Globe). Gilbert has recorded numerous albums and has been the opener of choice for artists as varied as Aretha Franklin, Arlo Guthrie, Anita Baker, George Carlin, and, most recently, Paul Reiser and The Subdudes.
A reception will follow the concert. The concert venue is handicapped accessible; street parking is available. Suggested donations at the door: $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $5 for students. For more information, call 781-729-0949 or visit http://www.winchesteruu.org/news/concert-series.
