Sunday, November 6, 1:30–4:30 pm, Follen Community Center
In every part of the world, girls miss school or drop out because they don’t have access to reliable feminine hygiene products. Days for Girls(DfG), an international nonprofit organization working to change this, is holding an event at Follen to sew bags, shields, and pads and assemble DfG menstrual hygiene kits. Email Marita Hartshorn(once upon a time Follen’s administrator) if you have questions. If you can, bring a sewing machine with grey and pink threads, and scissors. If you can’t sew, don’t let that keep you away. There are lots of roles for non-sewers, too. Kindly RSVP to Bonnie Newman.
Lexington Refugees Assistance Program (LexRAP) needs volunteers
LexRAP is a recently formed group of concerned people from Lexington and surrounding communities calling itself the Lexington Refugee Assistance Program or “LexRAP.” Our focus is to make Lexington a welcoming place for refugees and to help them directly.
