Building Up Resilience Networks (BURN) is organizing a Black Friday protest on Burlington Mall Rd to raise awareness of the nearby ICE facility.
Join SJAT from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, or any part of that. Please fill out our survey so we know who to expect and to help coordinate carpooling.
What will we be doing?
- Standing in the cold, so dress warmly!
- Bringing a thermos of something warm to drink, plus snacks, will be a VERY good idea.
- Primarily, helping out the BURN protest: if they need a few extra people holding signs, great, we’ll help out!
- If BURN is all set with their priorities, then we’ll be holding signs near the intersection of Burlington Mall Rd and District Ave.
- Basking in the solidarity of other protesters. Many of the usual protesters who attend the Wed, Thu, and Sat protests will show up. It’s a very cool feeling to be in the midst of 700 people who agree with you!
- Waving to drivers when they honk at us!
