Building Use and Rentals
Honoring our heritage as a community church, we offer our space for rental by individuals and groups for purposes that are in harmony with Follen Church’s values as a liberal, Unitarian Universalist religious institution, subject to availability.
We welcome your inquiry about renting space for concerts, recitals, other community events, ongoing classes in the arts, education, science, health and community services, and Unitarian Universalist wedding ceremonies or memorial services. All inquiries for space rental can be submitted using the Space Rental Request Form 2025–26. We ask that you submit your request at least 4 weeks prior to your event date.

Spaces Available for Rental
Please note that for all rentals there are separate fees for staffing for facilities and A/V technician. We do offer discounts for one-time scheduling of three or more rentals during a fiscal year, as well as rentals that take place Monday–Friday.
Our building has an elevator and is fully accessible.
Sanctuary
The octagonal Sanctuary is located at the front of our campus and seats up to 225. It has superb acoustics and is equipped with a Steinway concert grand piano and an 1868 vintage E. and G.G. Hook tracker pipe organ, considered one of New England’s best by the American Guild of Organists. Use of the organ is permitted by special arrangement. Events in the Sanctuary must be in keeping with its historic purpose. The Sanctuary has been home to many of the region’s most distinguished musicians in concert and offers a lovely setting for weddings and memorial services. Please note that officiants for weddings or memorial services should be a Unitarian Universalist minister or seminarian, or will require special approval from our parish minister. Fee: $396 for 3 hours (minimum time), $132 for each additional hour.
Community Center
The Community Center is located on the ground floor behind the Sanctuary and accommodates between 100 and 160 people, depending on setup. It has wood laminate floor space of about 1,900 square feet. It is equipped with a piano (Yamaha Electronic), a ceiling-mounted projector, and microphone connections. There is an adjoining full kitchen that you can add on to your rental for an additional fee. Fee: $180 for 2 hours (minimum time, except for a post-concert reception), $90 each additional hour.
Catering Kitchen
The kitchen adjoining the Community Center is a catering kitchen and can be added on to any rental (if available) for an additional fee. Equipment usage in this space must be used in compliance with posted operating instructions. Renters must remove or discard all refreshments upon departure; food and beverages may not be left on counters or in refrigerators. Rental fee: $60/event.
Library
The Library is located on the ground floor of our main building and accommodates up to 15 people. The room is equipped with a large conference table and chairs. Please note that this room is connected to the Community Center; built-in partitioning is available to section off the space. Rental fee: $60/hour.
Follen Patio
The Follen Patio is located outside to the left of our Sanctuary and can accommodate 40–60 people depending on setup. The space is handicap accessible and is composed of granite stone pavers. There is outside electricity available in this space. Rental fee: $90/hour.
Epp Sonin Music Room
The Epp Sonin Music Room is located on the top floor of our main building and accommodates up to 96 people, depending on setup. It is an 840 square foot, light-filled, open floor space with vaulted ceiling and wooden floors, suitable for music rehearsals, intimate concerts, receptions, and large meetings. It is equipped with a grand piano. Chairs, tables, microphones, and a projector are available as needed. Fee: $180 for 2 hours (minimum time), $90 for each additional hour.
Anne Smith Room and Patio
The Anne Smith Room and Patio are located on the first floor behind the Sanctuary and accommodate up to 27 people, depending on setup. The Anne Smith Room is a carpeted space of about 405 square feet and is equipped with a piano (Yamaha Electronic), wooden chairs, and a ceiling-mounted projector. The adjoining kitchenette is available for use at no extra charge. Rental fee: $72/hour.
Meeting Room #210
Meeting Room 210 is located on the top floor of our main building and accommodates up to 18 people. It is furnished with a meeting table and chairs. There is a kitchenette nearby available for use at no extra charge. Rental fee: $60/hour.
Meeting Room #213
Meeting Room 213 is located on the top floor of our main building and accommodates up to 18 people. It is furnished with a meeting table and chairs. There is a kitchenette nearby available for use at no extra charge. Rental fee: $60/hour.
Chalice Room
The Chalice Room is located on the top floor of the main building and can accommodate 4–6 people. It is furnished with a table and chairs. Rental fee: $30/hour.
