Last Sunday, February 9, we did a Mad Lib for Blessing Follen’s Newly-Refurbished Organ!

Here’s what it’s supposed to be:

When the Unitarian Universalist congregation in neighboring Stoneham announced it was closing, selling its building, and offering its historic organ to another UU church that would be able to restore it and give it a good home, the people of the Follen Church took on the project. The fourteen-stop organ, built in 1868 by Boston organ builders E. & G.G. Hook, was unique as a perfect and unaltered example of the artistry of that fabled firm. In 1997, they installed and restored the organ in accordance with the highest standards of historical accuracy and installed it in the church where it was first played for worship on Easter Sunday. A large and enthusiastic group of church members volunteered to help with the project, refinishing the black-walnut case, reclaiming original metal action parts, and gathering for an old-time barn-raising in the first days of the installation.

Here’s what we did to it:

The __35__(number)-stop organ, built in ___1972__ (year) by _Cairo_ (city) organ __Fireman__  (type of worker) E. & G.G. Hook, was unique as a __Furry_ (adjective) and __Greasy___ (adjective) example of the _hope__ (abstract noun) of that __Scary_ (adjective) firm. In __1970_ (year), they __skipped_ (active verb) and __vaulted_ (active verb) the organ in accordance with the highest standards of __Dead_ (adjective) accuracy and __Ate___ (verb) it in the church where it was first played for _East Village Fair_ (event) on __Halloween__ (holiday) Sunday. A _Petty__ (adjective) and __Silly___ (adjective) group of _NASA__ (institution) members volunteered to help with the project, _Waddling__ (verb) the ___Felt_ (type of material) case, reclaiming original _Silk__ (type of material) action parts, and gathering for an old-time __Geodesic Dome_ (type of building)-raising in the first days of the installation.
