Reflections on Patience

Sunday April 22, 12:30, Anne Smith Room

Operetta is coming up, and this year we’re exploring the show’s original historical context with choirs and community. On April 22, join choir alum and current costumer and dramaturg Nancy McCarthy after church for a light lunch, to hear about her research into the historical background of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Patience, Victorian gender roles, and the aesthetic movement, and to discuss with fellow Follenites how contextual information can shape our ideas about this classic operetta. Nancy will also be giving a Personal Point during service that day to introduce you to her thoughts and ideas.
