Bass Soloist/Section Leader Needed, Starting in September

A professional bass/baritone is sought to provide musical and technical leadership for the volunteer singers of the bass section during weekly rehearsals (Tuesday evenings, 7:30-9pm, starting September 5) and Sunday services (9 -11:45am, but including up to 4 double services per year 9am-12:45pm, starting September 10).

The soloist-section leader will assist volunteer singers by example and suggestions and perform arias and solos at services as the Director of Music may reasonably request.

Required: relevant degree and/or significant experience in performing sacred music, strong solo performance skills and experience, excellent vocal musical and technical skills, excellent sight-reading skills, ability to lead choir sectionals and support its members to perform well.

A driver’s license is not required, but applicants should be advised that there is no public transportation to Lexington on Sunday morning.

Compensation: $5400/year, paid biweekly from September through June, three Sundays off per year with manager approval (in addition to scheduled Sundays when the choir & soloists aren’t needed), and discount on rental of facilities for personal use.
