Food for Thought: Was Follen Church Really Founded by Abolitionists?

Thursday October 19, 6-8pm, Community Center

Our monthly dinner program returns with a bang. By revisiting primary and secondary sources, Follenites Walter Leutz and Anne Grady (shown at right) have investigated the complex history of our founding and prepared a more detailed and more accurate story than previously known. Together at Food for Thought, we’ll ask the tough questions:

  • Just how abolitionist were our founders?
  • Why did women and men disagree about our joining with the Unitarians?
  • How did our forebears handle differences of race, class, gender, and religion?
  • Did they see a line between religion and politics? Where?

Join us for a delicious meal, in-depth presentation, and lively small-group discussion. Childcare provided. No RSVP necessary — come as you can!
