with Countertenor Robin Blaze, Lutenist Elizabeth Kenny and Actor Patrick Swanson
Saturday, April 14 4pm, Follen Sanctuary
The late–16th-century English lute song represents one of the great fusions of words and music. When the words are Shakespeare’s, the results are transcendent.
English countertenor Robin Blaze is renowned for his interpretations of this beautiful music, and his “exquisitely controlled expressiveness ensures that the tiniest nuance in text and music makes its best effect” (The Telegraph, UK).
One of the foremost lutenists of the day, Elizabeth Kenny joins Blaze for an afternoon of deeply moving music, brought together by the theatrics of Follen’s own Shakespearean treasure, Paddy Swanson.
Admission is Pay-What-You Decide before, during, or following the program. For further information, contact Follen’s Music Director Vivian Montgomery.
