Past Services
10:30 a.m. Adult and Youth Worship Service, in the sanctuary
“Adieu means ‘Til We Meet Again!”
This service is about gratitude, gifts given and received, and leave-takings. It is the service when the graduating Youth Choir members join the Adult Choir. It is the service that our Ministerial Intern, Ellen Quaadgras, will say farewell. It is the service when our graduating high school seniors are each asked to come to the pulpit and share some particular memory about Follen, or something they learned about life here at Follen, that will help them as they step out onto the wider pathway of life. This service, not to be missed, is awash in tears and love, gratitude, grace, and letting go. This service is also the close of our worship year, over the summer, until our joyful In-Gathering Sunday at 10:30 A.M. on September 12th.

10:30 AM: COMING OF AGE SERVICE, in the sanctuary
This annual service, capping many months of mentoring our participating sophomores and being present as they share with us their ‘credo’ (I believe) statements, is always one of this congregation’s finest moments. The sanctuary is packed, so don’t be late!

Flower Communion and Child Dedication
This Sunday is Follen’s annual Child Dedication and Flower Communion Service. In a Unitarian Universalist child dedication we declare our support for the baby’s family and our commitment to helping raise children in our midst with attention, compassion, and love.
Please bring extra flowers for our multigenerational Flower Communion. We want flowers for everyone! Share your abundance and we will all go home with a gift of beauty, our beautiful flowers as a gift from one person to another in this service.

10:00 a.m.: FAMILY WORSHIP SERVICE, in the sanctuary
We love this twenty minute service for younger children and their parents. Although the service is aimed at involving the kids in a variety of age-appropriate ways, it is intended to provide a thoughtfully enjoyable “shared experience” for parents and kids to talk about later.
10:30 a.m.: MEMBERSHIP SUNDAY, in the sanctuary
At this service, all those who have chosen to sign the membership book, to become a full member of Follen Church Society, will be called forward and honored by the congregation. Additionally, we will recognize all those members who are celebrating significant membership anniversaries. Reverend Lucinda Duncan will preach.

10:00 a.m.: FAMILY WORSHIP SERVICE
Please come on time to the sanctuary and sit right down in front with your children, ages 3 or 4 through about 10 or 11. This is an interactive service which explores one main idea as the “take home message” for kids and parents to discuss later as they ride home in the car.
10:30 a.m.: ADULT WORSHIP: Happy Earth Day!
A celebration of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, and the start-up of the 40-40-40 Campaign, led by the Reverend Lucinda Duncan with assistance from our Green Sanctuary and Ethical Eating committees.
UUs across the Mass Bay District and the continent are going to expand this year’s Earth Day, April 22, 2010 (its 40th anniversary) to last 40 days, from Sunday April 18 to Thursday, May 27. How? By signing up individually to commit to make consistent, daily actions (one or more) over the 40 days for the sake of the earth and environmental justice.
